Amy Brecount White

OVERVIEW

Amy Brecount White is a writer, published novelist, and college essay writing coach. Her articles about travel, the environment, family, and education have appeared in The Washington Post, National Geographic Traveler, AARP, Arlington Magazine, Bethesda Magazine, and many more print and online publications!

When Amy first contacted us at the end of 2018, she had an outdated WordPress website and wanted to up-level her site and online presence.

The first site design and build included a large blog migration from WordPress to Squarespace version 7.0, headshot photography by Evelyn, a new logo, and making her website responsive web design with a better user experience!

Since then, her website goals have shifted away from personal blogging to featuring her travel and sustainability articles while continuing to showcase her published and upcoming novel and her college essay writing coaching.

We built her new site using Squarespace version 7.1 and reorganized the content to improve site navigation, featuring brand photography taken by Amy’s daughter Sam and a new sophisticated monogram logo. We chose readable, engaging typefaces paired with warm neutrals and curated stock photography.

We exported and imported the blog and mailing list, wrote custom SEO page titles and meta descriptions, added alt text, designed email newsletter templates, connected her Google Analytics, Search Console (submitted site map), and domain, and set up website legal policies, canceled old site subscriptions with prorated refunds, and trained Amy on how to make site updates!

Amy’s new site is as friendly and approachable as Amy and clearly communicates her writing expertise and sets her up to market her business with email campaigns. She’s excited to share the new website, and so are we!
