Zephyr Manufacturing Co.
Zephyr Manufacturing Co. is an aerospace, industrial and commercial assembly tools and tooling systems manufacturing company. We worked with them to refresh their brand and website.
Their old logo had a crowded hierarchy and part of the logo was distorted. The typography itself was a dated typeface that didn’t lend itself well to the readability demands of mobile devices. It needed to be updated but because Zephyr Manufacturing Co., founded in 1939, is an established brand with a recognizable icon that is actually engraved on its tools and screw bits — a logo refresh was a better solution than a full-on logo redesign.
We refined the Z icon, removed the plane, scaled the typography proportionally, reconfigured the lockup (the arrangement of the individual pieces), and added a tagline.
We added a smidgen of yellow to the original medium blue color to give it a more sophisticated feel and expanded the brand colors with a dark steel blue for contrast. We created a wide version and a stacked version for use across different platforms.
