Niki Wanner Grant Solutions

Niki Wanner Grant Solutions works closely with high-impact nonprofits to increase proposal win rates and diversify grant funding. After starting her career working in disaster relief, Niki saw firsthand how grants can both help those on the ground and strengthen a nonprofit.

I’ve learned how to successfully position and secure grants of all types and sizes to advance a nonprofit’s mission, and I’m ready to share that expertise with you.

Niki wanted her logo to state her name clearly and what she does. She wanted to avoid imagery that would be considered too illustrative or busy.

We started with varied concepts using her initials N and W to create different shapes and icons. We also played around with the shapes behind the monogram, using circles and watercolor blotches to show depth and texture.

Ultimately, Niki decided on this simple monogram, which utilizes the same bold and colorful palette we have on her website!

We used IvyPresto Display font for the monogram icon and her name and Brother 1816 font for the grant solutions part of the logo. The rigid lines of IvyPresto Display allow the letters to fit together nicely while maintaining the N and W.

The logo combines classic, timeless typography that’s sharp and sophisticated and a modern, upbeat color palette to attract nonprofit clients. We also don’t get the opportunity to do a lot of logos with gradients at Design Powers, so this was super fun to play around with!

Concept 2 used the watercolor mark and a more stylized W with the letter N hidden within that shape.

Concept 3 used a rounded square for the shape and an abstract N and W that melt into each other.
