Caring for pets with love for 25 years

OVERVIEW

Becky’s Pet Care is a leading pet care provider in Northern Virginia with 160 full-time employees and over 5,000 clients and holds the distinction of being one of the largest privately held pet care companies in the U.S.

When Becky first reached out to us, she was looking to rebrand to bring her online presence into the 21 century!

We started with the Power Plan. Becky gave me the rundown on everything that had transpired in her business since COVID hit. Needless to say, her business was hit hard. With everyone at home, her clients didn’t need pet care.

Becky took the downtime to really think things through and what she wanted for her business once the pandemic was over. She completely revamped her back office software and fine-tuned her services and rates.

Her WordPress website was antiquated, and the homepage literally wouldn’t load. She said they essentially gave up on their site, and she was ready to build something completely new.

Whenever we get a client who has been in business for a long time and has had a website up for many years, we do a comprehensive site map and document all the current content. Becky had an extensive blog with local search authority. We didn’t want to lose that.

Emily imported all the content and went through it carefully. Anything that was no longer relevant got a permanent redirect. All the content that was evergreen got restyled and a new stock image. This is tedious work but worth it.

We paired Becky with our client and brand content writer Michelle Mercurio to write the website's content and create a post-launch content strategy. We designed two different homepage concepts, and they chose the one that felt most aligned with their mission and Michelle’s writing.

Becky wanted to keep her periwinkle blue, so we included it in the brand colors. For her logo, we refreshed the design by defining the silhouette of the dog to look more like a discernable breed, updated the typography, and added the tagline “providing love.”

We asked local photographer Tamzin Smith to travel to BPC’s office in Springfield and photograph the office staff. The BPC team, clad in their newly branded polo shirts, brought some furry friends and playful attitudes, resulting in photos that exude the kindheartedness that Becky’s Pet Care is known for.

Finally, we brought it all together into a website that is easy to navigate and simple to comprehend, with detailed FAQs to answer any and all concerns and, finally, a lead magnet to help them build their email list.

We also created their graphic design collateral materials: letterhead, business cards, pocket folder, magazine ad, and a client welcome kit.
