Mångata

Mångata is a consulting company that connects top-notch expertise with specialized requirements to get business accomplished.

A lot of consulting companies try to shoehorn advisors into arrangements that don’t meet their current needs. We focus on the unique skills you’ve amassed throughout your career and match your interests, values, and talents.
— Mångata

Mångata is a Swedish word that describes the moon's reflection across the water’s surface. This definition inspired us as we began to create ideas for their logo design.

We knew we wanted to use moonlight and water in their logo; the challenge was figuring out how simple or detailed we wanted to go. We started with varied logo concepts, playing around with shapes, colors, and fonts. We ended up with three concepts that we liked: a simple typographic mark that utilized the font Fira Sans, another with an icon showing the moon casting rectangular moonbeams across the water with a rounded sans-serif font, and finally a lightweight square typeface with the letter Å acting as the horizon line and the ring as the moon itself.

Mångata loved different things about each concept that we presented! They liked the font from Concept 1, the icon from Concept two, and the way that the design in Concept three was a part of the Å and the word Mångata. So we went to work refining what we had to combine everything they liked into one cohesive mark.

Ultimately, the logo has a sense of calm and serenity, something you want to feel from a company going after government contracts! The type is a readable, fun sans-serif font. We were particularly drawn to it because of its letter forms- especially how the letter G looks. The colors highlight the cool, reflective tones you get from looking out onto the ocean at night.
