I empower our clients with the skills to showcase their expertise and add content to their websites confidently.

Whether doing graphic design, website building or hosting training workshops, Emily’s skills allow her to be the tech-whisperer and creative agent simultaneously. Our clients love her expertise in executing creative concepts and her ability to design and develop their distinct websites, no matter their design style. Her organizational and task management skills keep us on track and on time, making delightful relationships!

Emily is a passionate soul who always puts her whole self into her values...and work. She genuinely cares and wants to help clients “crush” their design goals. Although ambitious and assembled, Emily possesses an easy-going and down-to-earth personality.

Some of her favorite memories at Design Powers are winning the 2020 Best Home-Based Business Award from the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, using a real working Linotype machine, AWEsome Women events, and weekdays out-of-office trekking around Washington DC at art museums.

Emily writes about website design, SEO, branding and logo design on the Design Powers blog, Power Play, to help entrepreneurs amplify their businesses online. When she isn’t working, Emily spends as much time offline as possible—hiking and hula-hooping!

EDUCATION & TRAINING

Emily’s background in branding, graphics, and user interface design empowers her to create impactful marketing materials and websites that connect with people and get them to take action. She worked for Design Powers for seven years—starting as an intern in 2016, working part-time, gaining professional experience while earning her degree, and transitioning to full-time work in 2018. She loves working with her aunt Evelyn and her cousin Vanessa.

In 2015 Emily graduated Magna Cum Laude from Northern Virginia Community College with an Associate of Arts (AFA) degree in fine and studio arts, and in 2018 graduated Summa Cum Laude from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from the Art & Visual Technology program with a concentration in graphic design.

She’s lucky to have worked with awe-inspiring clients on exciting projects, including logo design, brand identity design, website design and development, editorial/print layout, film/video production, and podcast/audio editing.
