Overview

The MGI Corporate Gifts website redesign transformed a product-focused site into a story-driven, consultation-first experience. Built to reflect founder Ivy Horan’s expertise, the new site positions MGI as a trusted partner who makes custom gifting and awards effortless, meaningful and elevated.

The goal was to create a strategic website that communicates value, builds trust, improves clarity, and attracts clients seeking more than just products—clients who value a partner that delivers thoughtful recognition beautifully, within budget, and executed effortlessly.

Brand Strategy and Positioning

We began with industry research to understand how corporate gifting and awards are typically positioned—and where MGI stands apart. Through a detailed brand journal, discovery call, and market analysis, we identified a clear opportunity to shift the brand away from transactional language and toward a consultative, relationship-driven model.

MGI is strategically positioned as:

  • An expert gift consultant, not a catalog vendor

  • A professional, personal, creative partner

  • A brand centered on celebration, emotion and meaningful recognition

We translated this positioning into a new sitemap with intentionally designed service pages to improve SEO and AI-driven search visibility, clarify offerings, and guide users to the contact page.

Content Writing

Content played a huge role in the website's success. We combined insights from industry research, statistics, and proof points with Ivy’s real-world experiences to create copy that feels fresh, confident, and human.

While we retained select copy from the previous website, the majority of the content was overhauled. This included branded headlines, marketing-driven messaging,information-focused and clarity-driven copy, such as FAQs. The tone strikes a balance between cheeky, fun, and professional—making the brand approachable and credible.

The copy consistently emphasizes Ivy’s value: her ability to simplify complex gifting decisions, her trusted relationships, and her role as a guide who ensures clients feel confident and supported.

Page titles, meta descriptions, micro-copy, and button copy were carefully crafted to enhance search visibility and deliver a good user experience.

Logo Design and Visual Identity

We created a refined, minimal logo that highlights the MGI letterforms, reinforcing brand recognition while introducing a contemporary feeling. The “G” was thoughtfully customized with a stylized pink gift bow, integrating the concept of gifting directly into the wordmark.

In addition to the wordmark, we created a circle icon featuring the gift bow to use as a standalone icon where needed, such as the website browser icon, social media profile photos, or merch. The gift bow adds a pop of color that stands out, is memorable, and symbolizes joy, celebration, and, of course, gifts.

We chose a modern sans-serif typeface that’s highly readable, aligns with the website fonts, and supports a feeling of clarity, warmth, and professionalism across all brand touchpoints. The updated tagline adds the word “Awards” to “Corporate Gifts & Awards,” making it crystal clear that this is also a core service.

The new primary color palette balances trust and sophistication with energy and celebration. Paired with custom pattern backgrounds and a generous amount of secondary brand colors, the brand has a strong visual foundation for future marketing campaigns.

The rebranded logo positions MGI as an elevated, expert-led brand that celebrates people first. The logo reflects Ivy’s expertise through its simplicity, memorability, and professionalism—using quality typography and color to convey trust, unique value, and a scalable design that builds recognition and stands out. It serves as a visual mark that conveys credibility and signals that MGI is a reliable authority in its field.

Photography & Optimization

Because MGI did not have an extensive library of professional client photography, stock imagery was curated to support the storytelling and service offerings across the site. The stock imagery is complemented by custom photography of Ivy, as well as select images of real client gifts and awards featured within the case studies to build authenticity and trust.

We also created a dedicated gift gallery page as an inspiration resource. Ivy provided product images, which we enhanced to create consistent backgrounds and aspect ratios—resulting in a polished, cohesive grid.

All images were optimized for web performance, renamed for improved image search, and assigned descriptive alt text and captions where appropriate to support accessibility and SEO.

Web Design and Build

The site was designed and built in Squarespace 7.1 with a strong focus on layout, usability, and engagement. Navigation was restructured with improved header and footer menus, clear service pathways, and intentional internal linking to guide users naturally through the site pages.

Custom styling and subtle animations were used to add moments of joy without distraction, including a rotating word headline on the home page to reinforce key brand messages. Strategic color blocking helps visually separate sections and improve readability. Frequent calls to action encourage exploring and connection.

Additional features include:

  • Custom Google Reviews widget integrations

  • Configured forms (contact, order, email signup) with a custom confetti animation on submission, plus a new mailing list

  • Page settings set up including intentional URLs, SEO settings, social share images

  • Custom asset creation and organization

  • Domain connection, URL redirects, and analytics set up

Every element is designed to feel seamless and intuitive.

Legal Policies Set Up

To ensure compliance and peace of mind, we guided Ivy through the full legal policy setup during a live Zoom call. This included education around personally identifiable information, data privacy, and best practices for protecting both the business and its users.

We implemented a privacy policy, terms of service, cookie policy, and disclaimer, along with a cookie consent tool to comply with privacy regulations. Everything was explained and configured, allowing Ivy to move forward with confidence.

The redesigned MGI Corporate Gifts website now reflects the true value of Ivy’s work: thoughtful, celebratory, and expertly guided. The site positions MGI as a sophisticated, consultative brand that clients trust to deliver meaningful recognition with ease.

With improved clarity, stronger storytelling, and a strategic foundation built for growth, the website attracts clients who are looking for more than products—they’re looking for a partner who understands how to make people feel appreciated, celebrated, and valued.
